Reminder

Hey everybody.

Just to remind you what we discussed in our last meeting very long ago.

The dinner is on 30th January 2008 which means we have only 2 weeks to prepare after college reopen.

Regarding the performances and programmes, these are the people in charged.

  • Lion dance or dragon dance or the 24 season drums or wu shu or Chinese orchestra.-Hire professionals or invite trained students from KL schools. Schools suggested are Confucian PJ and Chong Hwa KL.
  • Opening ceremony – ‘Lao Sheng’ or the Chinese Emperor idea.(No one in charged yet)
  • Chinese Yoyo by Boon Seong(in the last meeting, Joel mentioned that Boon Seong already promised to perform).
  • May will choreograph a dance.
  • Ken and Joel will be in charge of the video presentation on origins of Chinese New Year.
  • Jean will prepare the sketch(mini drama) which will be fitted in to the intervals.
  • Games: eating using chopsticks.
  • Singing (tentative)
  • Fashion Show – Chinese traditional clothes
Chaer will be in charged of decorations so it'll be better if the plan is out during the holidays so materials and anything needed could be bought earlier.

We decided to get mandarin oranges and pamelos but who will get it?

I'll like to remind you to bring ang pao packets, flowers, fans, lanterns, 'chun lian'(the chinese caligraphy thingy) from home if possible.

This are the things we planned to sell to raise funds:mandarin oranges, Chinese New Year cards, food, keychains or bookmarks with Chinese names, ‘chun lian’. So are we still sticking to it? Fund raise or not?

These were what we basically discussed.
All this are subjected to changes.
